SGA - Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC)
SAFAC is a committee established at each higher education institution to decide on the type, amount, and expenditure of compulsory fees for student “activities” in accordance with HB 54.503. SAFAC members typically meet on the last Friday of every month at the Spring Creek Campus from 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Committee approves funding for activities which are separate and apart from the regularly scheduled academic functions of the institution that directly involve or benefit students including:
- Recreational Activities
- Intramural and Intercollegiate Athletics
- Artists and Lecture Series
- Cultural Entertainment
- Debating and Oratorical Activities
- Student Publications
- Student Government
- Student (Activity) Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC)
The President of Collin College selects four individuals to serve on the committee (including the chair). At Collin, these members consist of faculty, staff, and administrators. The Student Government selects five Collin students who are enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and who are in good academic standing.
